Driving Instructions to Aultmore Hollow Bed & Breakfast from the intersection of State Highway 1 & State Highway 5 at Wairakei.
- Please reset your tripmeter to zero at this intersection.
- If you have been travelling south (from say, Hamilton), turn left at this junction.
- If you have been travelling from the Taupo direction (for example from Huka Falls), continue straight ahead at this junction.
- You are now travelling on State Highway 5 in the direction of Rotorua. Continue for 2.2 km then Turn right into Aratiatia Road. There is a tourist information sign to the Rapids Jet at this intersection.
- At 4.2 km on your tripmeter you will arrive at the Aratiatia Dam & Rapids. If you happen to be passing close to one of the times when the floodgates are opened it is well worth stopping to see the spectacle. - After the dam, continue on Aratiatia Road until at 5.2 km on your tripmeter you turn left into View Road.
- At approx 9.4 km on your tripmeter you will come to the end of View Road, at the junction with Broadlands Road. Turn left onto Broadlands Rd.
- Continue for some 13.9 km by which time your tripmeter should be reading 23.3 km, then turn left out of Broadlands Road into River Road. As a landmark shortly before this turn, on your left you will see 2 airplanes parked in a paddock! (If you are travelling in the dark look for the solitary street light at the River Road intersection instead)
- Our driveway, with the number 615 on the letterbox, is approx 600 m down River Road, on the left between the 50km speed restriction sign and the first streetlight.
- Aultmore Hollow is at the end of this driveway. Continue through the gate and down the slope. You have arrived!
